Social Initiative

It is necessary that a symbiotic relationship is developed between OmBodhi and the local communities. Special consideration is given to local residents in employing and empowering them, and wherever possible, sourcing local and fair trade products and services.

We also engage with local community leaders (panchayat) and rural school administration, respectively, for the developmental requirements of our village, school, sports and culture.

We support the local dance form called Yakshagana, a traditional folk dance form, popular in Coastal Karnataka. It is an elaborate dance-drama performance unique to our area with a rare combination of dance, music, song, scholarly dialogues and colourful costumes.

In addition to this, we ensure that OmBodhi does not infringe on local customs and cultural practices. We strive to benefit the local community through shared knowledge and joint endeavours.
